about

Casual Gabberz wouldn’t be Casual Gabberz without Evil Grimace.

In 2013 the track “3Litres” emerged from soundcloud at a time where we were doing our first parties in Paris. The song embodied in a perfect way what we were trying to do on the dancefloor blending rap influence and hardcore techno in a fun and non-ironic way.

It became our official anthem and it didn’t take long for us to meet the man behind the track. He convinced us to start together a new record label so we could leave our own imprint.

Our first release “INUTILE DE FUIR [CGR001]” bears the mark of Evil Grimace with the hits “Bim Bim” or “Pour Mes Gens” along with other contributions under multiple aliases (RER E, Antivirus, Kaspersky) with a distinguishable raw and straight to the point style that he named “FRAPCORE” for French rap and core.

In contrast to the humongous following of his anthemic productions Evil Grimace cultivates the art of discretion and decided to retire from his native 77 (SEINE ET MARNE his department) in the suburbs of Paris to live in the country-side with his wife and new-born daughter. The kind of a guy who is so real and sincere with his music that you have to unveil a bit of information about his private life to introduce this very personal, first album, which will also be his last according to the man himself. It narrates seven years of Evil Grimace (the album includes all his major hits) ranging emotions from pure anger to bittersweet melancholy digging new cuts of french rap but also melodic samples inviting Sade and J.S. Bach to the table

Minimalist in his form, maximalist in his core, with no fear to use dance music legacy shortcuts in unexpected ways, Grimace production style is now totally free of any make up or glitter to make his music the more sincere and straight to the heart as possible. While he’s exploring new territories of the hard music spectrum like an incredible lofi take on Xtra Raw (“Joe La Douille”), or the frenchcore banger “Teuf”, the house favorite one is maybe when the gator only has to replay the bass of a classic Sade sample with an almost unprocessed kick to make us cry.

The album is brought to you in its original form as Evil Grimace worked on everything from the tracks to the cover and came to us with “Mes Larmes” a 17 tracks LP available on vinyl and digital december 6 for the 2 years of his daughter and the beginning of a new life.
